They headlined Electric Daisy Carnival in Los Angeles, had their own tent at Creamfields in the UK, and ran the biggest residency in Ibiza. And that’s just since June. By far the biggest collaboration in dance music, the threesome of Axwel, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Steve Angello aka the Swedish House Mafia are living like rockstars right now and they deserve it. Flawlessly mixing old megahits with their newest singles and remixes, their sets have a bit of a old school sing along feel that is pure rave and has captivated dancefloors all over the globe. Perhaps what stands out about the Swedish House Mafia is their consistency in their mix. Attributed by their customized work on each song they play live, their sets feature many of their own individual remixes and have created the signature SHM sound.
Since June we have been reliving EDC with the Sirius Satelite Radio recording. Now we have another gem courtesy of their recent BBC Radio One Essential Mix recorded live from Creamfields last weekend. Clocking in at a full 2 hours, this mix is a little more adventurous than their set in LA, and I will go out and say I lprefer it. Check it out and let me know what you think.
