Deadmau5 - Ghost n Stuff VIDEO

In an era where official music videos seem like a thing of the past, not only has deadmau5 made one, but its to a remixed version of the song featuring the leader singer of Pendelum, Rob Swire. Don't really know whether or not to take the video seriously but all in all its pretty entertaining.

So the official release isn't until later today but i was able to track down the finished version but it has a little disclaimer ever 30sec or so thats not too bad. Sample it if u want

edit: This video is awesome...

The Loss of a Legend - DJ AM

As your probably know by now Adam Goldstein aka DJ AM left us today. The details are still unknown and to be honest, it doesn't matter. What matters is not how he died, but how he lived and the profound effect he had on all of us. Having seen four times and met him twice, this hurts. He was always there to talk to a fan and greeted me humbly and with respect. He was a class act and a true natural talent that we will all greatly miss.

One of the most fun nights Ive ever took place this past October at Dim Mak's 2year Anniversary of Banana Split Sunday @ LAX. What started out as a regular club party soon turned into something special when Adam and Jessie from MSTKRFT decided to have a little DJ battle (with guest judge Thomas Bangalter) I was able to catch 5minutes of his time after his set and we joked about his Daft Punk stunt at HARD Haunted Mansion and how cool it was to have all the artists from HARD in attendance that night. Damn...its going to be hard to imagine a night out in Hollywood without him

Adam Goldstein (1973-2009)

To Honor the man I've included a recording that I was able to track down of that night at LAX and a live mixtape he recorded with drumming partner Travis Barker at Coachella this past Spring. Ive also uploaded some of great videos of him performing to our Videos page. Enjoy

TRV$DJAM - Fix Your Face vol.2 COACHELLA 2009

The PALMS hotel in Las Vegas (where AM had a Friday night residency at Rain) has paid tribute in a pretty awesome way.

Props up to this guy who filmed his entire set... Vid 6 is where he takes off the suit

Refill Please - FEED ME

With his debut track “The Spell” one of the top songs of 2008, London’s John Grooch aka Feed Me is now signed on Deadmau5’s Mou5trap Records and is set for a massive year. A legend of the DrumnBass scene under the name SPOR, Grooch’s electro act mends all his talents together into one of the most exciting packages to hit the scene since the Bloody Beetroots. With a combination of filthy original songs and remixes, highlighted by the best Muse- Knights of Cydonia remix I’ve heard, do yourself a favor and download Feed Me’s tracks now so you can hit the floors running when he explodes on the scene this year.

McDonalds v. Beatport

So this doesn't really have anything to do with music or modernism but more about globalism and the evolution of digital music distribution. Within our ever shrinking world, music has begun transcending borders similar to the way McDonald's and the BigMac did decades ago. This graphic just memorized me and I realized that you could easily substitute the BigMac for a song on Beatport and it would be about the same. Im all about supporting artists, but I choose to do so by going to see them in concert, not by giving half the money to Apple or Beatport

VIKING hits again

I cant get his Cut Copy "Hearts on Fire" remix out of my head and then yesterday he sent me a new remix of the Sounds "No One Sleeps When I'm Awake". The song reminds me a lot of LA Riots remix of "Crimewave" and is bound to be the next hit is his list of remixes. Hopefully we can get him out to LA again soon

Cut Copy - Hearts on Fire (VIKING Remix)

Crystal Castles - Crimewave (LA Riots Remix)

Essential Review - Calvin Harris

So i guess im a little hooked on the Calvin Harris train and his Essential Mix is perfect fix. Launching from obscurity over the past year, the Scottish dj, producer, and lead vocalist has become a powerful name in the ever evolving electronic music scene. Id classify him as a little electro-pop and new wave with his signature sound and his incredible live performances. The man himself is coming to Vanguard in LA this September 12 so be sure to check it out. You can get tickets HERE

Moving on to his Essential Mix, I think this is one of the most enjoyable sets ive listened to in a while. Not overly loud and never too slow to bore, this set is a complete mix that gives you a good look at what you will see from one of his DJ sets. It's also a nice combination of disco and pop that provides you with a fun mix that can help get the party started or just chill to. Enjoy

ps. Check out the behind the scenes video from the making of "Ready for the Weekend" below...its incredible
