
Similar to the undercard at boxing or mma fights, the 3rd tier and below on event fliers often discarded and ignored up-incomers or has beens. The artists you hear while you are in line, or you would hear had you cared to show up early….right? Well I learned my lesson last year that the undercard can sometimes be the best of the night. Last year at HARD Summer at the Shrine, a 3th tier act that consisted of two Italians wearing creepy masks and couldn’t stop head bobbing blew headliners MSTRKRFT outta the building, and grew into what we now know as the Bloody Beetroots. Im not going to say that these guys will have the success of the BB, but after listening to them for a while tonight, they are pretty damn good…

Hailing from Berlin, Modselektor are legends in the minimalist techno arena. The pair, made up of Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary have been around in various projects since 1992 and their maturity shows through in the depth of the mix. I little too thin for me but still much can be taken from this hour long set.
