The Sources

So a lot of people have been asking me where I go to find music...So here are my sources:

1. The Hype Machine is a blog aggitator that collects and plays music from all over the internet. Allowing users to listen to the songs, favorite them, and then go to the blog and download them, I made an account and now try to look at the Favorite page once a day

2. Favorite Blogs: After a few months of HYPEM i had ten or so blogs that I was repeatably visiting for their posts. Instead of going through HYPEM I just follow them and get an RSS update when they post something new.

3. Podcasts: Artists like Tiesto and labels like Mad Decent host weekly podcasts that automatically update on my itunes. Most of them provide a tracklist that updates through the mix so its easy to figure out the song that's playing during the mix. Average an hour long and best of all they are free

4. BBC Radio One Essential Mix:
Hosted by Pete Tong, the weekly 2 hr show features up and coming dj's or big names and are an incredible sample of what you'll hear from the artists live. Although you can stream them on the BBC site for one week, just Google the mix and you should be able to download it from another source.

5. From the site that brings you perhaps the "most legit" world dj rankings, DJ mag also keeps an updated Killer Download area on the left side of their main page. Pretty hit or miss but its a great resource to see what the big club songs from around the world.

5. Fairtilizer: Similar to Hypem but more for artists instead of bloggers, I use the site to find new live sets and singles that Hypem doesn't have. The site is still pretty small so I still use it sporadically
